Description

Day for Kids is about a kid being a kid. The City of Santa Clarita and the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley join forces to sponsor this annual event, which draws some 6,000 people. Everything—including food, entertainment, games, activities, and a raffle—is FREE, which is what makes this day so great for families.

Local organizations set up booths with games and activities for kids. In the past, youngsters have enjoyed outdoor laser tag, magic performances, arts and crafts, pony rides, obstacle courses, spinning wheels, bean bag tosses, cheer and dance lessons, and table games. Parents have also taken advantage of child ID kits and signing their children up for the raffle, which includes gift certificates, games, toys, backpacks and bicycles. Free food usually includes hot dogs, slushies, popcorn, cotton candy and drinks.

A variety of performers also take the stage to entertain families. In 2009, Letters to the Editor, the Icebreakers, JR Aquino, Jordyn Aquino, Brieanna James, and Pure Aloha Hula Aquino were among those acts.
