At Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley, we believe in providing opportunities that extend beyond the walls of our facilities, opportunities that broaden horizons and ignite aspirations. This past spring break, our Club Teens embarked on an enriching journey to the campuses of UCLA and UCSB as part of our esteemed Leaders in Training program. As they prepare to attend College of the Canyons this May and immerse themselves in the vibrant world of music with the Commercial Music & World Percussion Concert on May 17th, we reflect on the profound impact these experiences have on their personal and academic growth.

Why are these trips so important? The answer lies in the essence of our mission: to inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential. By exposing our teens to the atmosphere of higher education, we not only demystify the college experience but also instill in them the belief that post-secondary education is within their reach. These campus tours serve as catalysts for ambition, igniting dreams of academic success and future careers.

Moreover, these trips foster a sense of belonging and community. For many of our teens, stepping foot on a college campus may seem like an unattainable dream, but through these experiences, they realize they are not alone in their aspirations. They connect with peers who share similar goals and aspirations, forming bonds that strengthen their resolve to succeed.

Beyond academic pursuits, our Leaders in Training program emphasizes the development of essential life skills such as leadership, communication, and teamwork. By navigating campus tours and participating in college-preparatory workshops, our teens hone these skills in real-world settings, preparing them for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

As our Club Teens prepare to attend College of the Canyons this May and immerse themselves in the transformative power of music at the Commercial Music & World Percussion Concert, we invite you to join us in celebrating their journey. Through your continued support, we can continue to empower futures, one inspiring experience at a time.

Thank you for investing in the potential of our youth.
